WSW-day: Shared Future for Transformative Change via Academic Research!

Despite the World Social Work Day is vital to academic society, The Federation of Somalia Universities (FESU) thrilled to announce the formation of the Somalia Social Research Apartment (SOSRA) as is a pan FESU members central database network of institutions from her member Universities as Alliance operating at grassroots, national level framework with a commitment to promoting and strengthening the social work academic awareness and programs and between FESU member institutions and the public citizens. To achieve this, the FESU promotes active engagement of National Platforms in the shaping of Social Protection policies, programs, and practices in Somalia. SOSRA has established per ideal mental picture from her member University, the University of Southern Somalia (USS) to engage at the national level approaches while over 2024 till March 19, 2025 the University of Southern Somalia (USS) leadership will lead the SOSRA ideals in cooperation with FESU. As result of that each FESU University will take a year long to lead the cooperative Alliance itself through democratized and integral election from FESU leadership.

The Federation of Somalia Universities (FESU) in cooperation with her global affiliates SOSRA leadership will be trained and allowed her leadership to participate global academic research conferences and congress by means of Sustainable Development aim for Secured Somalia educational matters Future.

Every year, World Social Work Day is celebrated across the world on the third Tuesday of March, and events are organized throughout the month of March. The day is an opportunity for social workers and others in the social service sector to celebrate their achievements as well as to raise awareness and support for the important role that social workers play in the lives of children, families and communities facing adversity. The day calls attention to the need for further planning, development and support to the profession and social service sector. 

The next World Social Work Day takes place on the 19 March 2024. The theme is “Shared Future for Transformative Change’, which emphasizes the need for social workers to adopt innovative, community-led approaches that are grounded in indigenous wisdom and harmonious coexistence with nature.
